Sorority stereotypes

The biggest sororities have hundreds of chapters across the U. There is wide variety, culturally, from one sorority to another. Being in a sorority, one of the first questions you get asked is why you would join. KKG - They pride themselves on being stereotypical sorority girls, which is sort of sad.

At this point they are what Alpha Phi wishes they were. While not all stereotypes are completely accurate, they all stem from some truth. These are the biggest Indiana University sorority stereotypes that you love to hate and hate to love. Most people assume all sorority girls do in college is get drunk and party.


The most negative portrayal of sororities has to do with hazing. Here are the top most common stereotypes that are also not true. Although some of the stereotypes seen a lot of times may be true, most of them are not.

What I am here to write about are the most common stereotypes that apply to sororities in particular and why these stereotypes are not always truth. The Ohio Chapter of Delta Gamma decided to try their hand at combating some of the deep-rooted stereotypes of sorority women with a gorgeous photo essay that has gone majorly viral since it was. Probably the most geniuine group of girls, but they know that a little too much. Whether someone chooses to give merit to such stereotypes. Sadly, these stereotypes persist.


My wife is white and our daughter is fair with good hair. She is a freshman at Duke and pledged AKA because they made me feel welcome. The claps, the singing, the fake smiles, they all create the nightmare of a girl group.

They are just ideas or stereotypes. The type of sorority girls that Scream Queens depicts do not exist at all. Not all sorority girls are mean or kill people and throw them in freezers.


Which Sorority Should You Actually Have Pledged? Sororities get the worst reputation because of it. Sorority girls are always associated with sweeping generalizations and stereotypes that sometimes give the whole program a bad reputation.
