Brown spots on leaves

And while there are many reasons for plain old brown spots, when those spots look like little brown bull’s-eyes, the answer my friends, is fairly simple , organism-wise that is. Those plant leaf spots are caused by one of nature’s most basic organisms: a fungus. Prevent brown spots before they become a problem by practicing careful watering and pruning. Do not water the leaves of a rose bush, only the root area.


Infected plants have brown or black water-soaked spots on the foliage, sometimes with a yellow halo, usually uniform in size.

The spots enlarge and will run together under wet conditions. Under dry conditions the spots have a speckled appearance. As spots become more numerous, entire leaves may yellow, wither and drop.


Let’s first get to the root of the matter and talk about the cause of those blemishes. This fungal disease gets its name from the fact that the dark brown spots resemble tar. There are several brown spotted leaves on one of the ladies.

What’s worse, brown spots on fiddle leaf fig leaves can be difficult to treat if you don’t know what is causing them. My brown spots showed up and I initially thought it was some type of a deposit in the leaves , so I flushed and assumed there were still nutes in the soil.


Peony leaf blotch is probably responsible for the large, brown spots. The disease is also known as red spot or measles. Typical symptoms include glossy purple to brown spots or blotches on the upper surfaces of the leaves. It’s one of the most recognizable tree leaves out there, and it usually looks fresh!

Leaf spot disease is one such disease, caused by cold or overwatering the palm. Stop the spreading of the disease by simply cutting out the brown spots on the fronds. Fungi, such as the fusarium, can cause brown spots.


With the right knowledge, you can prevent brown spots on the leaves of your Azalea plant and take proper steps to inhibit them from returning.
